The Norwegian arms manufacturer Kongsberg Defence and Aerospace is planning investments in Pomerania. The initial investment, estimated at up to PLN 250 million, will cover the purchase of land and the construction of an arms factory in Pomerania, with the final investment amount potentially reaching as much as PLN 1 billion.
The investment is to be part of the “Kashubia – Green Industrial District” project, which was announced several months ago by Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defence Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz. The aim of the project is to develop industry, energy, and critical infrastructure in the Pomeranian, West Pomeranian, and Kuyavian-Pomeranian provinces. It was created with a view to strengthening the country’s defense capabilities.
On November 20, 2025, representatives of Rumia, the Wejherowo County, the Słupsk County, and the Norwegian defense company Kongsberg Defense & Aerospace signed a letter of intent regarding strategic economic cooperation. The local governments committed to supporting the project, including assistance in obtaining permits and documents, formal consulting, and infrastructure development: roads, energy, and municipal services.
