Equinor

Equinor (formerly Statoil) is a company with a rich tradition in the energy sector. In May 2018, we decided to change our name to Equinor, emphasizing our desire to transform from a company associated solely with oil and natural gas into one of the largest producers of energy derived from oil, natural gas, wind, and solar energy.

Equinor has been present in Poland since 1991. In 2012, the retail arm of the group (a network of gas stations) was sold to Couche-Tard (Circle K). In 2018, recognizing the potential of offshore wind energy in the Baltic Sea, Equinor entered the offshore wind energy sector in Poland, offering its experience in implementing offshore wind farm projects.

Equinor has 21,000 dedicated employees engaged in energy production in over 30 countries worldwide. We are the largest operator of oil and gas production facilities in Norway and the second-largest gas supplier in Europe. We cover over 20% of European gas demand. We are among the world’s largest offshore wind farm operators and are gaining increasing importance in other renewable energy sectors.

Equinor’s ambition is to strengthen Norwegian-Polish cooperation by sharing knowledge and experience to transform the Polish energy sector.
