PKO BP celebrates its presence in Germany and plans to open a branch in Sweden

PKO BP remains the only Polish bank developing its foreign operations through a network of corporate branches. Further locations, including Sweden and Lithuania are planned to strengthen expansion on foreign markets.
PKO Bank Polski has 600,000 corporate clients in the country, whom it mobilizes to spread their wings and diversify their business abroad. Four branches of the bank abroad help in this, the oldest of which – in Frankfurt am Main – is just turning 10 years old. The German branch of the bank also encourages international business to invest in Poland.
As part of its current strategy, PKO Bank Polski intends to increase its presence in another 8 European markets by 2027. The expansion will be carried out both through corporate branches, as before, and in a new formula – representative offices.
“We are currently working on the opening of the first representative offices, which will start operating in the next few months. These will be offices in Sweden and Lithuania. Lithuania is a natural direction of expansion for the bank – many companies with Polish capital operate there, and the country invests intensively in green energy and infrastructure. Sweden is a market where Polish companies are also increasingly active. Our role is to support them in their expansion, provide financing and facilitate cross-border settlements. Thanks to this, we are not only helping to build a green economy, but also strengthening the position of Polish banking as a reliable partner in key infrastructure investments in the region,” added Marek Radzikowski.
The presence of PKO Bank Polski on new markets will enable more efficient handling of cross-border transactions and financing of investments. The bank has consistently strengthened its position by striving to be the most recognizable and active Polish bank in Europe.
